As reported earlier in the week, the second Boeing 787 Dreamliner (ZA002) is currently in Japan undergoing Service Readiness Validation. Even though words about what is going on in Japan is interesting, photos are even better. Boeing has been doing a pretty great job posting photos on their Flickr account, but they also have some slick hi-resolution photos on their media page that I wanted to share. ANA pilots, together with Boeing, flew a flight test 787, known as ZA002, on actual airline routes in Japan using airline dispatch and flight rules. Boeing and 787 launch customer ANA are simulating in-service operations on the airline’s domestic routes to validate service readiness.
It is odd to think that someday it will be standard practice seeing the 787 Dreamliner operating standard passenger service. I guess for us airline geeks, it will always be special.

Incredible photos, what an amazingly streamlined and efficient looking cockpit. Also it is great to see Japan experience something positive after the devastating affects of the earthquake / tsunami they experienced earlier this year.
