Back in February we showed you that Continental Airlines was looking at having a retro livery and it has been chosen: The Blue Skyway.

The livery is to celebrate Continental Airlines’ 75th anniversary which happens on July 15th.

Continental Employees voted this to be their celebratory livery which was first introduced in the 1940’s.

Carribean AirlinesYes, that is a hummingbird helping this Caribbean Airlines Boeing 737. You might think a hummingbird is not strong enough to help the plane out, but by all logical science those birds should fly, but they still manage to do it.

The hummingbird image is a tip of the hat to the republic of Trinidad and Tobago, where it is known as “the land of the hummingbird”

Some creative United Airlines and American Airlines liveries

I am one that enjoys following all the airline liveries and get excited when a new one comes out. Sometimes I shudder when seeing a new livery that just…well isn’t that great.

While surfing around, I found a website that allows people to create their own liveriesand some are not half bad. Kind of wish more airlines would take a look to get a better idea of what possibilities are out there, since creating a new brand is not cheap.
