Niki Airbus A320-214 (OE-LEO) at Frankfurt

Niki Airbus A320-214 (OE-LEO) at Frankfurt

Niki, is an airline based out of Vienna International Airport. It has a fleet of two Airbus A321 (212-seats), six Airbus of the type A320 (180-seats), two Airbus of the type A319 (150-seats), and four Embraer E 190 (104-seats). Each aircraft has a unique name of a dance.  Check out Niki’s fleet page for the names.

The airline was founded by ex-Grand Prix driver, Niki Lauda, who left Lauda Air in 2000. After acquiring Aero Lloyd Austria, he started his new airline. In early 2010 Air Berlin has had a 49.9% stake in the airline.

I am not quite sure about the bug on the front of the livery (anyone have any guesses?). I tried to contact Niki to get an answer, but as of posting this, I have heard nothing.

A United/Continental possible livery on a Boeing 747-400

A United/Continental possible livery on a Boeing 747-400

A lot of talk about United Airlines and the Continental merger. There are quite a few people that aren’t too happy with the new combined livery of the new United Airlines. A while back I found a site that allows people share their photoshopped liveries and a few interesting ones have popped up for a combined Continental and United Airlines livery.

Be sure to check out their site for other possible combinations.

Middle Eastern Airlines Airbus A330-200 (OD-MEC)

Middle Eastern Airlines Airbus A330-200 (OD-MEC)

Middle East Airlines is the national carrier of Lebanon. It was founded way back in 1945 and flies to just over 25 destinations. They currently have a fleet of 13 aircraft consisting of Airbus A320, Airbus A321 and four Airbus A330. Their livery is quite simple with a tree on the tail (which is their trade mark symbol — check out this old Boeing 707) with MEA on the front.

They are known for their good safety record and high customer service. Their flight attendants are required to speak three languages: Arabic, English and French.

The tree on the tail is a Cedar of Lebanon which is a native species in the Mediterranean Mountains in Lebanon.

Thanks Robin for the extra information!

TUIfly's Boeing 737-800 (D-AHFM) with Haribo gummy bear livery

TUIfly's Boeing 737-800 (D-AHFM) with Haribo gummy bear livery

What’s sweeter than a livery with gummy bears on it? Not too much.

TUIfly is Germany’s third largest airline and is headquartered in Langenhagen, Germany. The airline was founded in January 2007 as a cooperation between Hapag-Lloyd Flug and Hapag-Lloyd Express. TUIfly flies both scheduled and charter flights. They run a fleet of about 40 Boeing 737, most of which are Boeing 737-800’s.

Haribo is a large candy producer who is also based in Germany. They are best known for making gummy and jelly sweets.

And if blue is not your color, TUIfly also has a gold Haribo livery as well.
