Kulula Boeing 737-800 with "Flying 101" livery

Kulula Boeing 737-800 with "Flying 101" livery from Airliners.net

I did an “Airline Livery of the Week” on Kulula Airlines back in November, but this livery deserves a second post.

This is called “Flying 101” and shows passengers where the tail and wings are on the plane, in case you didn’t know. Although very creative, I am not sure how much passengers need to know where the “Black Box” is located at. I find it best not to remind passengers why someone might need to find the black box.

That is hilarious! I agree about the black box – less said, the better. Where is this airline? Looks like maybe New Zealand or Australia due to the “loo.” Thanks, Dorothy

Hey Dorothy!

Even the name makes it sound like it could be in New Zealand or Australia, but the airline is based out of Johannesburg.

Need to lighten up about the black box! We all know it’s there and that it is not actually black…
so what!?

it’s funny…some of you guys, where is your sense of humour? there’s no need to take everything seriously…gosh!

Oh it is funny and probably the best humorous livery I have seen. It is just interesting to me they would put the black box on there. It only reminds passengers they might die and investigators would use the black box. Not a big thing, but something I wouldn’t have done.

at least now i know where the black box..or should say orange box… is..:)…i am a frequent flyer….

I can well understand that some people are sensitive to the inclusion of the Black Box in the Kulula livery. Personally, I do not mind. But then, we all react differently to different things, and one has to respect that. Vive la difference!

This sense of humour show that they are a ‘happy flock of birds’. I have read about the funny announcements that theY make during flight………. surely makes flying fun after a LONG TIME!

Maybe some people should start remebering every airplane has a black box. Evey time you step on a plane you remember you could die on this flight… Does that make you scared. Air travel is the safest mode of travel. If they can put Arriva Alive signs on roads (Which you are more likely to die on) can be placed then why not an outline of a black box? I’m pretty sure people should stop being so closed minded and have fun.

Are you now afraid of driving?

Hilarious to i laughed my ass out when i saw the pics, i would like to fly the plane for free, even if its just one destination, on my vac, tell me how so i can send my CV
