Boeing announced on Aug 10, 2011 that Cathay Pacific Airways has ordered eight 777F and four 777-300ERs. The airline already operates 35 777s and has a backlog of 36. Photo from Tim Milne/Flickr. Click for larger.
Boeing’s figure of 71 total 777 order excludes 4 leased 777-300ERs from BOC Aviation.
If leased 777-300ERs are counted, it should be 75: 50 777-300ERs; 12 777-300; 5 777-200; 8 777F freighters.
I know most times Boeing won’t count the leases not through them since they aren’t the airlines and seem to come and go more often. But great catch!
